Book Repairs – The Evolution Of Modern Sculpture - Tradition And Innovation
Put in a quick repair to the dust jacket to prevent this tear getting worse.
unfortunately I didn't really get a good shot of how it was with the dust jacket on, and also the light is not great. I only remembered to photo it after I had it prepared on a table for repair. essentially a tongue like tear was there and it would have easily got worse, so all I did was place a patch over the top from the inside and then lay some heavy books on it. Its not an attempt at an invisible repair, but its not that noticeable and it probably wont readily get worse. I think it might have felt natural to use cellotape for this, but cellotape is a terrible material to use. First off its not the right shape. Second, you cant really nudge it into place, so the moment it sticks, thats it, and if there is a crease your stuck. Also, it remains sticky where there are slight gaps and attracts dust and can be visible.
