The Time Has Come - Partnership For Progress

The Time Has Come – Partnership for Progress (1987)
by David Owen and David Steel
(Published by George Weidenfeld and Nicolson)

Straight out of 1987 and bursting with centrist optimism, this political relic captures the moment when the SDP–Liberal Alliance truly believed it could reshape British politics. Co-authored by David Owen (of sensible hair and stern convictions) and David Steel (forever telling us to “go back to your constituencies”), The Time Has Come is both manifesto and museum piece—a glossy pitch for a new political dawn that never quite broke.

A must-have for political anoraks, completists, and those who enjoy leafing through well-intentioned delusions. Expect big ideas, earnest prose, and the faint scent of disappointment wafting off every page.

Condition: Yellowing with wisdom, slightly battered by history.
Sold by: Crappy Old Books – purveyors of the politically passé and charmingly out-of-date.

Very good condition, like nobody ever bothered to read it.
