Evidence Of Elephants - Signed

Evidence of Elephants (1995) by Gerard Benson – Sold by Crappy Old Books

Step quietly into the world of Evidence of Elephants, where poet Gerard Benson weaves the ordinary and the whimsical into something quietly extraordinary. This 1995 collection from Viking hums with gentle wit, thoughtful pauses, and the occasional lumbering metaphorical elephant that’s impossible to ignore.

Benson—best known as one of the original voices behind the “Poems on the Underground” project—brings that same democratic, deeply human touch to this collection. Whether he’s exploring love, memory, or the strange mysteries of daily life, Benson does so with a deft hand and a kind heart. There’s humour here, and melancholy too, all delivered in lines that feel like they’ve been waiting patiently for you to notice them.

Condition: Slightly faded cover, mild foxing, and a faint smell of damp library nostalgia—perfect for poetry.

Crappy Old Books: Because not every elephant leaves footprints—some just leave quietly brilliant verse.
