Christie’s Review of the Year 1967–1968 (1968) – Sold by Crappy Old Books
Step back into the rarefied world of high art and hammer prices with Christie’s Review of the Year 1967–1968, a richly illustrated chronicle of the auction house’s most notable moments. Published in 1968, this annual time capsule captures a fascinating cross-section of sales, collectors, and cultural treasures that passed through Christie’s storied rooms in London and beyond. From Old Master paintings to exquisite furniture and objets d’art, the volume combines erudite commentary with striking visuals — a must-have for enthusiasts of art history, auction lore, or just the heady charm of the swinging sixties seen through a gavel’s lens.
Proudly offered by Crappy Old Books — where faded spines and yellowed pages tell better stories than most bestsellers.
NOTE: Slightly warped. Has possibly been exposed to moisture, but is not water damaged, but has warped slightly, concave to front. I have flicked through it and all the pages appear free, but a couple threaten to be stuck together slightly towards the spine. I haven’t loosened all the pages, but its mostly 99% free, it just makes a crinkly sound as its opened for the first time in 50 years.
