Coin Collecting

Coin Collecting (1965) by T. Hanson (Collins)
Offered by Crappy Old Books

Take a nostalgic deep dive into the shiny (and sometimes not-so-shiny) world of mid-20th-century numismatics with Coin Collecting by T. Hanson. First published in 1965 by Collins, this charming guide offers a snapshot of coin enthusiasm before the internet, eBay, or laminated reference cards. Packed with black-and-white illustrations, proper British sensibilities, and the occasional sweeping generalisation, it’s a perfect blend of education and outdated opinions.

Whether you’re a serious collector or just like books that smell of dusty lofts and half-forgotten hobbies, this well-worn gem from Crappy Old Books deserves a spot in your wonky shelf of retro curiosities.

Warning: contains enthusiastic references to farthings.

Bottom spine to back is slightly squashed like it has been pinched by something sometime ago leaving it a bit squished, but its hardly noticeable, especially from the front.
