The Dead Sea Scrolls Deception

The Dead Sea Scrolls Deception by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh is a provocative and controversial investigation into one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The authors argue that the true contents of the Dead Sea Scrolls—ancient Jewish texts found near Qumran—were deliberately suppressed by a select group of Catholic scholars seeking to protect Christian orthodoxy. Drawing on historical research and investigative journalism, Baigent and Leigh challenge the official narrative, suggesting the Scrolls reveal a radical sect with beliefs far closer to the historical Jesus than traditional Christianity allows. Bold, compelling, and contentious, this book invites readers to question long-held assumptions about religious history and institutional power.
